A walking game.
Enforced.

Every mechanic in StormRush is built so the smart way to play is never the dangerous way. Here's exactly how.

The storm moves slower than you walk.
Never run into traffic โ€” there is nothing to win there.
Winning is positioning and deduction over the course of a storm, not a sprint at the end of one.

๐ŸšธThe speed lock

In the daily Neighborhood Storm, the game is walking-pace only. Sustained movement at vehicle speed locks the game: your health freezes, your position disappears from the map, and โ€” the part with teeth โ€” any arrival made at speed is void. Not a warning. Void.

Because the same automatic rule applies to every player, breaking it gains nothing. There is no version of StormRush where driving, or riding fast, gets you the prize.

Speed is measured as a sustained average over many GPS readings โ€” one glitchy ping while you're standing at a bus stop will never lock you or void your run.

๐ŸšถEvery finish is a walk

The decisive moment of every storm is a walk. At launch, the whole game is walking-pace; if faster-travel formats arrive later (a city-scale storm with transit between phases), they will keep the same ending โ€” a walk-to-finish zone around the final circle where arrivals only count at a sustained walking pace. That commitment is permanent: the race is decided by positioning, never by who runs the red light at the end.

๐Ÿ‘€Heads up, not down

You shouldn't need your eyes on a screen to play well:

๐Ÿ—บStorm circles respect the street grid

Every storm's circle sequence is checked against the actual streets before it's scheduled. No circle edge or shrink path rewards crossing a busy arterial road mid-block, and the final approach to the host's door is reachable entirely on sidewalks and marked crossings. The storm herds you along routes a sensible pedestrian would take anyway.

๐ŸŒงReal weather beats fake weather

If the National Weather Service issues a severe advisory over the zone โ€” dangerous thunderstorms, extreme heat, extreme cold, blizzard conditions โ€” the challenge postpones automatically and every player is notified. We will also cancel any live challenge on the spot if conditions turn; rewards already earned are honored. Our storm is a game; theirs isn't.

๐ŸŽ‚Why 18+

StormRush is adults-only, and that's a safety decision, not a marketing one. A GPS game played on real streets, near real traffic, demands adult judgment about when to stop, wait, and let a phase go. We'd rather lose every player under 18 than design around the alternative.

๐ŸšจSee something unsafe? Say something.

Anyone โ€” player, host staff, or a bystander who's never heard of us โ€” can report an unsafe situation during a challenge: in-app, or through our contact form.

Every live challenge has a kill switch. A credible safety report is grounds to use it: the challenge cancels instantly, every player's phone is notified, and rewards already earned are honored. Stopping a game costs us nothing worth weighing against anyone's safety โ€” so we won't weigh it.
